Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2013!

A lot of people are posting what you can expect to see on their blogs and I thought I’d say that I’d definitely like to blog more in 2013.

My blog is mainly an outlet but with work, family stuff and everything else going on in life it’s not been a huge priority.

However, I’d definitely like to do some themed posts on a subject, so if you have any suggestions please let me know.

I am really bad at keeping resolutions, so I’ve not made any this year. 2012 has taught me to keep an open mind and a positive outlook. That doesn’t mean hardships and shocks will not come my way or leave me feeling in a place where I can’t see any hope but inshallah (god willing), I feel I am now more equipped to deal with them than I was before.

With each year we grow older and hopefully a little wiser. I’m turning cranky and slightly achey in my old age, so I know I need to make my health both mental and physical a bigger priority this year. I also need to speak up when I’m unhappy in a way that’s respectful but also makes my point heard.

What have you learned in 2012 that will help make 2013 better for you?

  1. Would be great to see more blog posts from you here, Humaira, so I’m encouraging you there :D

Your mental health is more important than you know it. Do whatever you can to make you happy. Whether it’s taking a day for yourself or just slumming it on the sofa. Do it.

2012 taught me that you need to do what YOU need to do. Take a chance. If it doesn’t work, no matter. But you’ll never know until you try. It’s cliched and simple advice, but I stand by it.

Hope you had a lovely New Years :)

    • I had a busy New Years with family over. I turned in before midnight though, I get tired if I’m up past my bed time :) . I totally agree. We only have these moments now, so to do something that makes you unhappy is a waste of time.

It’s just de-programming yourself from trying to please everyone that’s not yourself that’s much harder.

  2. Happy New Year :)
Wishing you lots of health and happiness in 2013.

2012 has taught me to lighten up. I overthink everything way too much and my husband is (SLOWLY) teaching me to let go and enjoy the moment. Hopefully I can learn to accept this!

    • Thanks Shaza and same to you! I am the same as well, I overthink things to the point of inaction! I need to start letting go and enjoy the moment. What will be will be.
